Another trip to the Vet...

The last couple weeks, we have noticed that Bubby has not been lifting up his tail at all and has been having some trouble going to the bathroom.  We have tried to look at his butt, but he goes ballistic when we try to lift up his tail. So today, we took him in to see what was wrong.  The nurse thought it was a gland infection, but unfortunately, the doctor said that it is another slipped disk.  The difference is that it is further down his back, so it isn't causing paralysis like the previous slipped disk.  Instead, it causes shooting pain up his spine if he his tail isn't down.  They do not perform surgery on a disk issue that low on the spine because there are too many nerves down there and it could cause more harm than good, so he was prescribed steroids for the next few weeks to help the inflammation and he is going back on the pain meds that he has been on and off of for the last few months.  Poor Bubby :(
