15 Weeks Pregnant!!

4/9/11 - 4/15/11

My baby's development at 15 weeks:
  • Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam.
I am feeling:
  • Still really great!  I have been so motivated and energetic lately and it has felt so great to be productive again.  One of the only problems I'm still having is sleeping.  I wake up at least once an hour every night and I am still having a lot of bad dreams that wake me up and make me not want to go back to sleep.  It is as though pregnancy has completely changed me from a night owl to an early riser.  My mom keeps telling me that it is just preparing me for baby.  I'm really not experiencing many other problems besides some random aches and pains from time to time.  My appetite is getting better every day and I think I am finally over my meat aversions.  I don't even recall having any headaches this week.  So far, I'm loving my 2nd trimester!!
I am craving:
  • I still really enjoy my virgin daiquiris.  I like just about anything spicy, even my boneless buffalo chicken - which I spent a month or so unable to even smell.  And I absolutely love fruit - especially grapes, pineapple and strawberries!  Yum!!  Oh - and peach rings!!
I look like:
